Caring for the injured
is our mission.
For two decades, The Gough Law Firm has been characterized by words not often paired except perhaps by parents of a child in danger: caring and tough. The Gough Law Firm was originally founded by Deborah Gough (pronounced Goff) to practice Nursing Home Injury Law. In this capacity, she and her team have mounted success upon success seeking justice for the elderly and their families after unthinkable abuse.
Today The Gough Law Firm actively represents men and women who have been injured by negligent institutions that should have had a watchful eye, including:
- University of Michigan for lack of oversight regarding sexual abuse by Dr. Robert Anderson.
- Bayer Corporation for the injuries caused by Roundup (non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma)
- Syngenta for nonadmission of scientific link connecting Paraquat to Parkinson’s disease.
- U.S. Government for effects of known contaminated water for more than three decades at Marine Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
Over the past decade The Gough Law Firm has worked with the nation’s top tier law firms leading precedent-setting cases. One of these firms is The Wagstaff Law Firm, headed by Aimee Wagstaff who is the powerhouse behind the successful Roundup litigation.
The Gough Law Firm founder, Deborah Gough, is a national leading attorney for abuse survivors, and has been designated by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial attorney, an achievement that is held by less than 5% of the practicing attorneys in New Jersey.
She is Past Chair for the American Association of Justice, Nursing Home Litigation Group; a member of the New York Nursing Home Litigation Group (Past President); the New Jersey Association for Justice (Board of Governors); and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Deborah also regularly serves as faculty nationally for seminars on abuse and neglect and has written extensively on the subject.
She is a graduate of the Trial Lawyer’s College (TLC), a post-bar curriculum dedicated to training and educating lawyers and judges who are committed to the jury system, to representing and obtaining justice for the poor, the defenseless and the damned, among others, and to protecting the rights of such people from corporate and government oppression. No attorney employed by a corporation, or the government, may enroll at TLC.
